Overview
Family Office Accountant / Bookkeeper
– Midtown NYC (on-site, 5 days) Compensation:
$90–120k plus bonus, 401k match, profit sharing, and excellent benefits Our client is a multi-generational single-family office (SFO) that provides tailored financial services to private family members. Known for its warm, collaborative culture and long-tenured employees, the firm offers a stable and supportive environment where professionals can build meaningful, long-term careers. The firm seeks an accountant/bookkeeper to handle bill pay and legal entity accounting for a select number of clients. This is a fully on-site role based in Midtown NYC.
Family Office Accountant / Bookkeeper Responsibilities
Provide bill payment services, including all regular and non-recurring expenses
Onboard clients onto the bill payment platform, reviewing and documenting all relevant bills and invoices
Provide cash flow support, ensuring each entity’s accounts are appropriately funded and distributions are processed
Coordinate payments for lines of credit, loans, and insurance-related premiums
Prepare budgeting and cash flow projections for select family clients
Perform monthly account reconciliations
Monitor account activity with respect to liquidity management
Prepare financial statements
Assist with special projects and handle additional administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Communicate frequently with high-net-worth family members regarding financial matters
Family Office Accountant / Bookkeeper Requirements
Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 10 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience, including AP/AR, reconciliations, financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), budgeting, and maintaining the chart of accounts and general ledger
Proficiency with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or NetSuite
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Previous experience working in a small office environment and collaborating with colleagues
A drive to provide excellent, caring client service to clients and team members, and the ability to build trust and rapport
Prior client-facing experience required; experience in a single-family or multi-family office is a plus
