Overview
Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist--On-Site. Location: Killeen, TX. Responsible for knowledge of collections and applying that knowledge to patient accounts including insurance, billing, and collection processes. Identify problem accounts and review accounts for discrepancies and potential issues. Contact insurance companies to resolve claims not paid in a timely manner, identify coding or billing issues from EOBs, and work to correct errors. Research and resolve claim-related issues to maximize profitability for clients. Review claims to ensure payer-specific billing requirements are met and follow up on billing as necessary. Responsibilities
Acute appeals/denials/collections experience in a medical setting Analyze EOB denials and determine steps to correct claims Audit and resolve accounts with credit balances Audit and resolve accounts with outstanding balances and determine disposition of delinquent accounts Perform necessary rebilling or adjusting on accounts Finalize invoices with no discrepancies Document all conversations and billing transactions in the management system Contact customers or business partners to notify them of overdue payments and collected debts Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients with attention to detail Other duties as assigned What you will love if you have
Minimum of three years’ experience working with underpayments/denials, or prior experience as a Healthcare Insurance Collector, Patient Account Representative, or related experience High School Diploma or GED required Payer relations background Knowledge of commercial collections; VA, TRICARE, Medicare and Medicaid collection knowledge a plus Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills Understanding of medical terminology and medical coding terminology Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Strong attention to detail and goal orientation Maintain strict confidentiality; adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations Relevant experience in credentialing, medical billing and coding Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and electronic email systems In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, insurance reimbursement methods, claims appeal process, and managed care contracts Working conditions
Operates computers, scanners, telephones, and additional office equipment Full 8-hour office-based shifts Able to wear appropriate dress code per company policy Able to sit and stand for long periods Minimal lifting up to 50 lbs Benefits
