Senior Systems Engineer
to join an award winning cybersecurity and IT servicing consultancy. The
Systems Engineer
will work closely with various clients in the civilian and government space for their IT solution needs. Accepting applicants for 30 days from today, 9/9/2025. This position is remote but will mirror Phoenix AZ working hours, the ability to travel onsite occasionally, greatly preferred.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices Replace and troubleshoot hardware components including chassis, blades, CPUs, RAM, disks, power supplies, and cabling Design solutions based on internal and customer requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and performance Build, test, monitor, back up, and maintain production systems and infrastructure. Implement open-source projects in production environments with a focus on reliability and optimization Collaborate across teams to integrate hardware, software, network, and security components into cohesive systems Active Secret or higher security clearance preferred; ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance required Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience in Python development or similar object-oriented programming languages (Java, C++, C#) Minimum 4 years of experience using Ansible for configuration management Deep understanding of systems integration including hardware, software, security, and networking (VLAN, DNS, DHCP, Firewall, VPN, Load Balancing) Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (QEMU/KVM, Docker, Podman) Experience with major Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, RHEL) Knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and storage solutions (RAID, ZFS, block/object storage) Hands-on experience with web servers and applications (Nginx, Apache, Flask, Node.js) Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, GitLab, Jenkins) Compensation
