Overview

As part of HDR’s Aviation team, you will help design resilient highways, iconic bridges, and advanced transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports, and marine infrastructure. Your contributions will directly support economic vitality, public safety, and community quality of life.
Responsibilities
Be aware of FAA orders, advisory circulars, UFC requirements, local agency requirements, and client manuals.
In addition to general FAA requirements, be informed of at least one specialty element such as pavement, drainage, lighting, signage, etc.
Participate in the HDR Airfield Design Community of Practice (CoP).
Apply and develop tools such as basic AutoCAD Civil 3D and introductory AVI-Plan software packages.
With direction, prepare elements of aviation related designs, studies, and/or reports.
Compile project records and maintain SharePoint sites, project files, etc.
Support marketing efforts and maintain an updated resume.
Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Interest or experience designing general aviation, commercial service, and/or military airfields.
Basic use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar design software) and introductory AVI-Plan software packages.
Microsoft Office experience.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Commitment to being an active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
