The Webmaster is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the college websites and coordinates with College departments to provide support for content editors and to develop new web initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the college websites. Develops, designs, plans, redesigns, and maintains College’s websites, with languages such as HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, C# and ASP.NET. Utilizes a content management system to create and maintain a website that presents information in an easy-to-use format. Creates CMS templates for college departments to maintain a consistent branding, usability, look and feel. Collects and evaluates website performance using analytical tools. Provides the portal through which all content (excluding pages which access the student database) is received for the site from other staff members. Manages files and directories; grants, denies, or limits access by internal users to the website or areas. Responds to webmaster@klamathcc.edu email. Maintains the college web servers, including software and hardware updates. Manages the student portal (MyKCC), including updates, permissions and usage training. Provides customer support on usage and development of the college’s websites. Directs the work of student workers. Coordinates with College departments to provide support for content editors to develop new web initiatives. Keeps current and utilizes appropriately all publications prepared by the College and its mission to the public when planning and suggesting additions to the website. Serves as liaison with staff when adding content. Stays current on technologies and best practices in web development. Helps provide content management within the structure of the College’s organizational chart. Monitors the classroom multimedia intercom to assist the faculty during class. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences. Time management, clear communication, documentation and organization. Customer-focused technology services mindset. Knowledge of College operations, needs and goals. Demonstrated expertise in website design and development, project management, web development tools. Strong writing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of bandwidth saving techniques to minimize network traffic. Proficiency in HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, C# and ASP.NET. Experience with an industry-standard Content Management System; Cascades CMS a plus. Team oriented, able to work under pressure. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies. Proven technical aptitude and ability to apply new technologies to the College. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 20 lbs.; bends, stoops and kneels; climbing ladders. Prolonged standing and sitting and use of computers. Keyboarding performed as part of duties. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Open until filled. Seniority level
