LITIGATION DOCKET AND COURT SERVICES COORDINATOR
The Litigation Docket and Court Services Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the docket for the Litigation Department utilizing the Firm’s implemented Docket software, assists in filing pleadings in electronic formats with the various courts that the firm practices in and provides various other court related services. Observes confidentiality in all client and Firm matters. Summary Process and docket all assigned court filing deadlines, discovery, and other relevant event dates and reminders for the Litigation Department, utilizing the firm’s court rules based docketing software. Review litigation documents for relevant dates, and alert attorneys and paralegals of upcoming deadlines by effectively using the docketing and calendaring system to enter applicable dates. Ability to conduct research, retrieve pertinent information on litigants, court cases, dockets and judge information from all court-related databases. Respond to procedural requests/inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding calendared events and deadlines, pleadings, court procedures, and date calculations in a timely and efficient manner. Prepare and distribute weekly docket reports with upcoming deadlines to legal teams. Works closely with Assistant Managing Clerk and other Docketing Team Members to ensure consistency with regard to Docketing among all twenty three offices. Required to have the ability to perform local, state and federal electronic court filings for the firm under the direction of the Assistant Managing Clerk. Other Docketing and Court Services duties as assigned. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Process and docket all assigned court filing deadlines, discovery, and other relevant event dates and reminders for the Litigation Department, utilizing the firm’s court rules based docketing software. Review litigation documents for relevant dates, and alert attorneys and paralegals of upcoming deadlines by effectively using the docketing and calendaring system to enter applicable dates. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required 5+ years of recent litigation experience, preference given to candidates with litigation docketing experience using a rules-based docketing software. Recent experience docketing and/or supporting litigation in multiple states, both Federal districts and State jurisdictions. Experience with CompuLaw or Milana desired, but not required. Understanding and working knowledge of litigation phases from Complaint to Appeal. Working knowledge of legal documents and terminology. High school diploma or equivalent. Computer proficient with preferred skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Imanage and Adobe. Self-starter who works efficiently as an independent and collaborates well within a team. A detail oriented skill set and have the ability to prioritize time efficiently while handling multiple tasks under time constraints Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with office staff and legal personnel in person, by e-mail and telephone.
