Overview We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled

Workday Developer

to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining solutions within the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Financials, and PSA platforms. This role supports HR, Finance, and other business stakeholders by creating system enhancements, integrations, reports, and dashboards that improve organizational efficiency and decision-making. The position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of Workday solutions with business needs, regulatory requirements, and system best practices. By enabling data accuracy and automation, this role directly impacts operational efficiency and employee experience across the organization.

Work Arrangement This is a hybrid work opportunity. At ES, this means working onsite at one of our offices a minimum of 1 day/week (currently Wednesdays) with flexibility for the remainder of the days. ES has offices in Oakland, CA, Orange, CA, Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, and Boston, MA. At this time, we are not accepting applications from candidates residing in the following states: Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and support integrations across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and financial systems using Workday Studio, EIB, and web services.

Troubleshoot and resolve Workday technical issues and system errors.

Support end users with Workday functionality, access, and reporting needs.

Develop, test, and deploy Workday reports and calculated fields.

Design and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, and Core Connectors.

Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to gather requirements for enhancements and process improvements.

Strong ability to interpret business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure data accuracy.

Focused on continuous improvement of system processes and workflows to maximize business efficiency.

Monitor Workday system performance and ensure integrations run successfully.

Ensure system design and data handling comply with organizational policies, legal regulations, and audit standards.

Perform Workday system updates and ensure compatibility with new features/releases.

Develop dashboards and analytics to support leadership decision-making.

Partner with stakeholders to evaluate and improve system workflows and user experience.

Support system audits to ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance requirements.

Test and implement Workday-delivered upgrades and feature releases.

Provide training and documentation to business users on new functionalities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR Technology, or related field.

5 years of experience as a Workday Developer.

Hands-on experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Report Writer.

Strong knowledge of Workday HCM, Financials, and PSA modules.

Proficiency in web services (SOAP, REST, XML, XSLT) and database querying (SQL).

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Workday Certification(s) in Integrations, Reporting, or specific modules.

Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or Adaptive Planning.

Familiarity with Agile methodology and DevOps practices.

Prior experience in energy, utilities, or related industry.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 – $115,000, with a target compensation of $109,250 based on experience and qualifications
