Description SAIC has an opportunity for a
Systems Engineer
to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in Fort Belvoir, VA. The selected candidate will work on multiple ground system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g., policies, concept of operations) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition) to support vital operational missions.
Responsibilities
Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across the customer site and collaborate with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering processes.
Oversee site processes used to document and manage the site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other government agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture.
Ensure representatives and organizations understand site integration needs and processes.
Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations & maintenance plans.
Review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g., RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).
Represent government’s interests at various forums and provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
Occasional CONUS travel.
Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen.
Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years or more experience or master’s in STEM field and three (3) years or more experience required.
Expertise in full system engineering life cycle from concept, requirements, design & development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout the system development lifecycle.
Self-starter, able to proactively address customer requirements without supervision and define solutions for broad, abstract topics.
Polished communicator (written/verbal) with interpersonal skills and judgment comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers.
Strength in collaborating and coordinating with multiple stakeholders — consensus builder.
Desired
Real-time operations experience as a SIGINT or GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator familiar with space operations and policies, ground operations, and system requirements/governance policies.
Digital Engineering/MBSE, Agile development, cloud technologies familiarity.
