Overview
Analyst, Operational Excellence and Process Improvement role at Port Canaveral. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes for CPA and/or CPA departments with a focus on identifying areas for potential improvement, while helping senior leadership solve complex business and operational issues. They will own and utilize Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies, tools, techniques, and principles, ensuring their freshness, applicability, and consistency with industry standards and ensuring proper deployment across multiple projects. Essential Functions
Serve as a change agent by promoting the use of Lean tools across the organization. Analyze and benchmark current processes against proposed alternatives to identify opportunities to close competitive gaps or gain competitive advantages. Meet with team members from any department to discuss and analyze process improvement efforts. Gather and process data to identify process performance. Conduct site visits to analyze processes. Conduct process reviews to eliminate duplication of activities, identify quality improvements, and pursue possible reductions in costs. Evaluate data and perform statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities, issues, and risks. Deliver measurable and validated results. Assist the Director with the generation and evaluation of solutions, determining project scope, and developing pilot plans as needed. Communicate results, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders, process owners, and project teams. Collect cruise parking data and maintain cruise parking reports and forecasts. Other duties as directed. During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are considered essential and may be recalled to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of normal working hours. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Proficiency in Lean, DMAIC, and project management tools preferred. Basic understanding of business functions, workflows and processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Intermediate or Advanced Excel knowledge. Good interpersonal skills. Experience in contract administration, internal controls, contract compliance reviews, and preparation of financial statements. Licenses / Certification Required
Valid Florida Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days. Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (20-30 lbs).
