Primary Purpose
The Material Distribution Technician I learns ARUP processes and procedures for accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of products to assure timely and quality receipt and distribution of company material and inventory.
Schedule Monday – Friday, 40 hrs/week (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Essential Functions
Uses company vehicles on company business
Quality checks inbound shipments for accurate labeling and stocking procedures
Performs receiving functions including labeling reagents and kits with lot numbers and expiration dates
Maintains quarantine areas for reagent validation
Quality checks outbound orders for accuracy
Performs accurate data interpretation and input
Pick and pack product
Processes packages for shipping and returns
Conducts cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
Replenishes stock from backup locations
Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean working environment
Mentors junior staff on procedures
Other duties as assigned
Physical And Other Requirements
Stooping: Bending spine at the waist
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Mobility: Occasionally move between work sites and inside the office
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment requiring personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies
Heavy Work: Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers
Vision: Close, far, and peripheral visual acuity
Color Vision: Ability to distinguish colors
Age: Must be 21 years old
Valid Utah Driver’s License: No moving violations within the previous two years and no alcohol/drug violations
Department of Transportation Medical Card: Ability to pass test and obtain card
Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent or better
Experience Relevant inventory, shipping and receiving, or warehouse experience 1 year
Relevant clinical laboratory inventory or warehouse experience 1 year
Preferred College coursework in logistics and/or Lab Assistant Training
Ability to operate a forklift
Licenses & Certifications Driver License required
