Overview
Position Title: Litigation Associate Attorney Location: Texas Position Type: Full Time Summary: A respected law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic and fast-paced Litigation Practice Group. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with strong analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. This role requires taking ownership of active files and working independently while collaborating within a team. Responsibilities
Draft and respond to discovery requests (including admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, and orders) Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs in compliance with applicable court rules Collaborate with clients to understand their legal needs, formulate strategy, and provide effective counsel Conduct legal research and analysis on case law, statutes, and regulatory matters Draft clear and persuasive legal writing, demonstrating strong written and critical thinking skills Communicate effectively with courts, opposing counsel, regulatory bodies, and clients Organize and manage documents for complex litigation, including multidistrict matters Exercise sound judgment and creativity to resolve complex legal issues Remain current on developments in relevant areas of law Mentor junior attorneys and provide guidance to support staff Contribute to team efforts while also managing independent responsibilities Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas 4–6 years of experience in civil litigation Strong understanding of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or Lexis Nexis Experience in hearings or trials Preferred experience or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: governmental entities, environmental law, utilities, construction law, or complex litigation
