Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in personal injury law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload from initial consultation through resolution.
Responsibilities Case Management
Handle all aspects of personal injury cases including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, and product liability claims
Conduct thorough case evaluations and provide strategic legal advice to clients
Manage a caseload of active files with varying complexity levels
Oversee case development from initial intake through settlement or trial
Client Relations
Conduct initial client consultations and case assessments
Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and developments
Provide compassionate and professional client service throughout the legal process
Explain complex legal concepts in understandable terms
Legal Practice
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents
Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses
Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel
Prepare for and participate in mediation
Prepare cases for trial and appear in court proceedings
Work with medical experts, accident reconstruction specialists, and other professionals
Business Development
Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, medical professionals, and community contacts
Participate in networking events and professional organizations
Contribute to firm marketing initiatives and thought leadership
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in South Carolina
3-5 years of personal injury litigation experience
Strong trial experience with proven courtroom skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in legal research and case management software
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases
Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to understand medical records
Spanish language fluency
Membership in state and local bar associations as well as trial lawyer organizations
Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods
