Responsibilities
Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and spousal support
Consider representing clients in guardian advocacy cases (training provided)
Conduct legal research, analyze cases, and prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals
Represent clients in court in person and by Zoom as required
Represent clients in mediation in person and by Zoom as required
Communicate with clients with timely responses to their questions
Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients, advocating for their best interests and ensuring fair outcomes
Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or litigation proceedings as necessary
Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with Florida Bar guidelines
Utilize CMS and track billing accordingly
Adhere to office policies and procedures as outlined in the Handbook
Be ready to take a file and run with it, leveraging knowledge of family law, South Florida judges, and local nuances to add value to clients
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law practice
Member of the Florida Bar
Law degree from an accredited institution
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Resides in South Florida and familiar with South Florida Judges and procedures
Ability to work independently and ability to pick up cases and run with them
Compassionate, collaborative, and committed to work/life balance
Knowledge of Case Management Systems (MyCase preferred)
Compensation $90,000 - $150,000 per year
