Job Description:
A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Working under the supervision of the Head Chef, the Line Cook ensures that food is cooked to order, portioned properly, and presented according to restaurant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cooking and preparation:
Prepares ingredients and cooks dishes according to the menu and chef’s specifications. Consistency and quality control:
Ensures food is presented correctly and meets quality standards. Sanitation and safety:
Maintains cleanliness and organization of the station, following health and safety regulations. Team coordination:
Works closely with other cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to ensure timely service. Qualifications:
Experience : Previous experience as a line cook or in a kitchen environment. Skills : Attention to detail, and ability to follow recipes and instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge : Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment and knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Working Conditions:
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Regularly lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds). Competitive pay based on experience.
