The School City of Hammond is seeking a Science Teacher for Middle School with 2 openings. The teacher will plan, carry out, evaluate, and supervise instructional activities in the science subject area for groups and individual students. The teacher will also advise students in community internships, work experience, and academic activities. About The School City of Hammond

Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities Post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the server accessible to students, parents, and the community Maintain a classroom environment consistent with codes of conduct and conducive to positive learning Use rubric-based authentic assessment methods to evaluate student progress and adapt programs to student needs Communicate openly with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff Provide progress reports on students’ academic progress as required Communicate electronically with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress, attendance, and behavior Attend conferences and workshops for professional development Collaborate with other personnel to improve instructional programs and school operations Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students Perform other duties as assigned Other Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university Valid Indiana State Teacher’s License or eligibility for a license for the corresponding age/grade level 2 years of teaching experience Highly developed oral and written communication skills Ability to build professional relationships with families and students Experience developing and implementing curriculum Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room Proven ability to maintain a safe and studious classroom environment Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum Additional Information
