ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Special Education teacher in a District 200 high school functions as a case manager for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Most of the case management duties lie within one of the following four domains: 1. Individualized instruction Regular data collection Instruction tailored to the individual educational needs of each student Specially-designed curriculum and instructional materials for each student 2. Consultative services and collaboration Design and implement schedule for ongoing communication with parents Consult and collaborate with teachers and support staff on a regular basis 3. Attendance at IEP meetings and conferences. Attend as directed: Annual Reviews/IEP meetings Transition meetings Domain meetings 3-year reevaluation meetings Professional Development strands appropriate to assignment Parent meetings 4. Paperwork, reporting, and communication Maintain all Individualized Education Plans for students as assigned and communicate progress to student and parents on a consistent, regular basis
