Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Overview Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) has served students from Kindergarten to 12th grade across multiple sites since 2010. Our mission is to prepare students to excel academically, demonstrate mastery of NY State Learning Standards, and achieve their career aspirations. We support the intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical development of students and prepare them to be responsible 21st century citizens. We offer a rigorous instructional program in a safe, supportive, technology-infused, data-enriched environment with social-emotional learning, authentic field experiences, career counseling, and college coursework. All team members collaborate to support scholars.
Understanding the Role As a General Education Teacher, you will deliver exceptional instruction, assess scholar growth, and provide ongoing academic and cultural support. This role reports to the principal.
Responsibilities
Deliver instruction across General Education K-5 with a focus on literacy, math, and core content areas
Plan for students of all ability levels, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities
Participate in after-school or Saturday tutoring, enrichment, arts, and family programs when applicable
Engage in professional development, collaboration, and data-driven planning
Collaborate with colleagues to write unit plans and interim assessments; analyze student data and share best practices
Support social-emotional learning and create an inclusive classroom environment
Utilize technology to provide regular updates and maintain parent communication

Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
NYS certification preferred

Urban school teaching experience preferred
Ability to create an engaging classroom for students of varying academic levels
Strong teamwork ethic and data-driven instruction skills
