R-92679**Groot, Inc.**, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a **2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic** to join our team in Elgin, IL.Our Diesel Mechanic will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safe diagnostics and repair of our truck fleet and equipment.

Competitive pay - plus approximately 5-10 hours of overtime weekly (overtime is time and a half after 40).**Schedule:** 2:00pm - until close Monday-Thursday, Friday is 10am until 6:30pm with over time as needed plus rotating Saturdays which are 6am until 11am.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.* Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.* Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.* Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.* Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.**Requirements:*** Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record.* Ability to work in all weather conditions.* Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at
