Indianola, IA (pop. 16,069) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines. Indianola, home to Simpson College, the world-renowned Des Moines Metro Opera and the National Balloon Museum and U.S. Ballooning Hall of Fame, is known for its access to outdoor activities, trail system, parks and golf courses. The community hosts events such as the National Balloon Classic and Warren County Fair. This position is responsible for a number of tasks, including, but not limited to: Responsibilities
Patrols assigned area by car and on-foot to prevent crime and detect violations. Arrest violators. Familiarizes self with patrol areas and people residing in the area. Directs traffic. Follows OSHA procedures to ensure safety policies and procedures. Participate in training as directed. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED General knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Ability to comprehend and articulate complex facts and relationships in detail and summarization. Additional Highlights
