Job Description Summary The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider interested in working full-time in the care of pediatric patients with diabetes and various endocrine diagnoses. The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at MUSC has a distinguished history of clinical, translational, and basic research, as well as a reputation for excellence in clinical care and education. Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital was ranked as a “best children’s hospital” by U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals 2022-23. Telehealth appointments may be part of the normal caseload.

Work Shift: Monday – Friday daytime clinics and on-call responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

Provide direct care including history taking, physical exams, and treatment planning based on diagnostic results.

Initiate referrals and consults with healthcare providers.

Document and bill for care provided.

Utilize current research and evidence-based practices.

Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and compliance activities.

Support professional development and continuing education.

Potentially precept students and new team members.

Maintain necessary licenses and certifications, including BLS, DHEC, and DEA.

Travel between clinical locations as needed, including North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, and Downtown Charleston.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Current or eligible licensure as a PA or APRN (Pediatric NP or FNP).

Minimum of 1 year experience in Pediatric Endocrinology.

Preferred: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).

Physical Requirements Includes standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environments. Must meet vision and dexterity requirements.
