Key Responsibilities Credit Evaluation: Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants by reviewing financial information such as credit reports, income statements, and debt obligations. Risk Analysis: Analyze credit risks associated with each application and determine appropriate loan terms, interest rates, and repayment schedules. Decision Making: Make informed decisions on approving or denying loan applications based on established lending policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management principles. Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with applicants to gather necessary information, explain loan options, and provide guidance throughout the application process. Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations, including Fair Lending practices, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) guidelines. Documentation: Prepare accurate loan documentation and contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly stated and understood by the borrower. Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to foster loyalty and encourage repeat business. Performance Monitoring: Monitor loan performance and identify potential issues or delinquencies, taking proactive measures to minimize credit losses. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with underwriters, loan processors, and other internal stakeholders to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in consumer lending to enhance decision-making processes and operational effectiveness. Mortgage Support: Conduct initial conversations and prequalification for mortgage lending, referring customers to appropriate mortgage staff as needed. Community Engagement: Actively represent Woodland Bank in the Deer River community through participation in civic and professional organizations. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of commercial lending experience; community banking experience is preferred. Strong understanding of credit risk, loan structuring, and business financials. Experience working with or alongside credit analysts to evaluate and prepare loan packages. Working knowledge of consumer and mortgage lending processes. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lending software systems. About Us
