We are pleased that you are interested in career opportunities offered at MICA.****Summary of Essential Functions***** Maintain material supplies* Maintain studio standards of health and safety* Maintain workflow through the firing process## ****Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities***** Knowledge of: ceramic materials and processes* Skills: cleaning and organizational skills* Ability to: follow directions, be punctual and dependable****Minimum qualifications:***** Currently enrolled MICA student* Have completed CE200 or CE201* Ceramic experience from another institution is also applicable****Preferred Qualifications:***** Ceramics 300 level class## ****Conditions of Employment:***** May need to lift 50lbs* May require PPE (environment is dusty)* May require working outside and or at extreme temperatures* Be trained on working with several types of machines not limited to clay mixers, kilns, power tools etc.****Physical demands and work environment:***** *Physical Demands:* While performing the duties of job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. (may be adjusted depending on position)* *Work environment:* While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. The working environment can be dirty and dusty.* *Required training:* Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment.
