Overview
The Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a candidate for a full-time faculty position at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment. The preferred candidate will provide outstanding clinical expertise including patient care management related to endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and outpatient clinics at MD Anderson's main campus in the Texas Medical Center and/or in the Life Science Pavilion (LSP) and/or the Houston Area Locations (HALs). The candidate will contribute to the department's programs through exceptional clinical judgment, active participation in education, and independent decision making. This faculty recruit will provide clinical expertise including patient care management related to consultations, new patient evaluations, initiation of appropriate referrals, performance of endoscopic procedures, and follow-up/surveillance. The successful candidate will actively participate in a productive teaching environment for fellows, residents and students, and will collaborate with the department's ongoing research programs. The candidate will engage in the development and execution of clinical trial protocols, research, and scholarly work that enhance the department's academic environment. The candidate will serve on institutional and other committees as requested and attend faculty and departmental or divisional meetings. Work Location: Hybrid Onsite/Remote This position has a target base salary of $365,967 to $445,591 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable. Responsibilities
Provide patient care management for consultations, new patient evaluations, referrals, endoscopic procedures, and follow-up. Deliver outstanding clinical care in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and outpatient clinics. Educate and supervise fellows, residents, and students; contribute to a productive teaching environment. Collaborate with ongoing department research programs; participate in development and execution of clinical trial protocols and related scholarly work. Engage in academic service by serving on institutional committees and attending relevant meetings. Qualifications
Doctorate-level degree in the field appropriate to the faculty role and department mission. Licensed by the Texas Medical Board to practice or eligible to practice in Texas. Board certification in Internal Medicine. Board certification or board-eligibility in the secondary specialty of Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additional Information
