Overview

Position Information: Research Coordinator. Location: Lebanon, NH. This grant-funded, regular full-time position is onsite (no remote work eligibility). Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with occasional nights or weekends as driven by the research. Travel to foreign sites and domestic conferences is required. Employment type: Regular Full Time; FLSA: Exempt; 12 months/year; 40 hours/week. Responsibilities

The Space Medicine Innovations Lab focuses on research related to brain function, auditory system, and related interventions. Coordinator will perform and manage studies, collect data, analyze results, and communicate with international partners. The successful candidate will be self-directed, capable of learning new skills, troubleshooting, working with diverse teams, and managing multiple projects. Project Management

Research and develop new project ideas, contribute to study design, grant writing, and budgeting. Manage operational processes for a portfolio of complex, multi-component research projects across their life cycle: developing and implementing protocols, collecting data, managing subcontractors, analyzing data, and reporting results. Initiate and maintain communications with collaborators on multiple projects domestically and internationally; conduct weekly teleconferences and site visits. Track project enrollment and communicate with teams about enrollment progress and goals. Manage all regulatory submissions for multiple projects (CPHS, FDA, GCP); supervise study team compliance, eligibility criteria, subject safety, adverse events, and participant follow-up. Oversee submission of protocols to Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Monitor data collection, analyze data, prepare reports and papers, and present findings at scientific meetings. Ensure access to data records across collaborative teams; maintain file sharing on Dartmouth servers; oversee data privacy and protection, establishing compliance protocols for human subject data.

Technical/Data Management

Manage code base for data extraction from databases and data joining for analysis. Track data collection and transfer from external sites; run and distribute reports of recently collected data. Identify and resolve data management discrepancies; develop policies for data collection, management, verification, and analysis. Coordinate sharing of related data with team members; troubleshoot equipment problems.

Supervision

Hire, mentor, and supervise full-time lab staff and student employees; oversee projects at domestic and foreign sites via teleconferences and site visits. Train new lab members on conducting studies locally and at satellite sites; provide mentorship and feedback on data quality; advise student interns and employees.

Finance/Budgeting/Grants

Develop internal and sub-award budgets and justifications for grant proposals; assist with grant development and writing. Allocate funds and personnel effort across projects; coordinate with foreign sites for US federal requirements on grant funds distribution; negotiate with vendors for best pricing.

Research Management

Set up and assist with research protocols and experiments; identify and troubleshoot problems in experimental design and methods. Recruit participants, lead informed consent discussions, test human subjects; observe results and maintain records; assist in troubleshooting unexpected findings. Conduct auditory, electrophysiological, and cognitive testing; report results to principal investigators and senior staff; develop or modify methods as needed; adhere to safety requirements; may assist with animal experiments.

Qualifications

Required Education : Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities 5+ years of experience in project management or related skills. Project management skills and ability to work independently, taking initiative to advance projects. Knowledge of human subject and/or clinical trial design, conduct, and implementation. Familiarity with regulatory process and rules related to animal research. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively as a team member. Ability to use sound judgment when interacting with outside parties; outstanding oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate with all levels of staff, management, and executive leadership; contribute to reports, presentations, and technical papers. Coding experience with data query building and analytics desirable. MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access; experience with SQL and REDCap databases. Preferred 5–7 years of relevant project management experience. Master's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Department Contacts
