Requirements
Be a U.S. Citizen
Be 21 years of age or older
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with arrest authority or three (3) years of prisoner handling/detention experience as a Corrections, Detention, or Military Police Officer
Speak, read, and write English
Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
Certified fit-for-duty by a medical professional for the CDO position; no condition restricting strenuous exertion
Honorable or general discharge if a Veteran
Duties
Constant or frequent personal surveillance of secured areas
Close observation of persons to detect damage, misuse, or theft
Monitor deliveries and contractor activities
Inspect persons and vehicles entering/exiting secured areas; document access
Report suspected illegal or unauthorized acts
Report unsafe conditions that could cause fires or hazards
Prohibit unauthorized access and enforce trespass procedures
Respond to alarm system communications
Make timely decisions with good presence of mind
Notify appropriate agencies and management as per post orders
Conduct interior/exterior patrols and parking lot patrols
Log visitors, vehicles, and vendors; administer access control
Participate in building fire and emergency action plans
Use facility mapping tools to locate company facilities
Prepare security reports for investigators
Respond to alarms and emergencies; assist with crowd and traffic control as directed
Maintain timely check-ins and account for absences
