General Description Under the direction of the special education teacher, the behavior coach will provide assistance to children in a special education program.
Qualifications
Experience working with emotionally/behaviorally disabled students in educational or health settings preferred
Knowledge of child development concepts and practices
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (offered at district)
First Aid and CPR certification (offered at district)
Duties and Responsibilities
Work intensively with students who have behavioral or emotional challenges and address individual needs immediately
Use reality-based problem solving techniques with students
Maintain CPI, First Aid, and CPR certifications
Assist in developing and implementing educational programs for challenged students
Support teachers by managing disruptive or emotional students in the classroom
Prepare and maintain logs, reports, and files
Escort children to bus, nurse’s office, or across campus as needed
Facilitate communication between students and teachers
Follow district policies and procedures timely and appropriately
Perform other duties as assigned
