Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
to support federal and marine construction projects. The SSHO is responsible for implementing and managing site safety programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the workforce. $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Implement and enforce safety and health programs in accordance with contract requirements, OSHA, NAVFAC, and EM 385-1-1 standards. Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain accurate documentation. Lead site safety meetings and ensure hazard communication across project teams. Perform mishap investigations and prepare required incident reports. Provide hazard recognition training and guidance to supervisors and crews. Ensure all safety reference materials are maintained and accessible on the job site. Collaborate with project management and subcontractors to create and maintain a proactive safety culture. Monitor site activities for compliance with contract safety requirements and provide corrective action guidance. Qualifications
Required: Valid driver’s license. Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience. Completion of 30-Hour OSHA Construction Training (or equivalent) within the last 5 years. Completion of NAVFAC 40-hour Construction Safety Hazard Awareness for Contractors (within the last 3 years). Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in hazard identification, inspection documentation, and safety compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). Ability to pass drug screening (pre-employment and random). Ability to obtain and maintain federal base access. Preferred: Prior federal contracting safety experience (NAVFAC, USACE). Strong background in creating and sustaining site safety cultures. Working Conditions
Full-time position with project-based schedule. Work performed on active construction sites including marine, industrial, and federal facilities. Requires frequent site inspections, walking, climbing, and exposure to weather and marine conditions. Occasional evening, weekend, or extended shifts may be required. Compensation
This is a
full-time, exempt
position with an annual salary typically ranging from
$90,000 – $110,000 , depending on experience (DOE). Benefits
