Overview
Information Specialist III - Sheriff\'s Office at St. Louis County, MN. Base pay range: $23.74/hr - $32.89/hr. The salary range above is the normal hiring range for 2025; the full range, including longevity pay, is $23.74 - $32.89 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas. Based in the Duluth Courthouse, this role applies a system of specialized departmental work rules, methods, procedures and operating precedents to perform a variety of customer service, records maintenance, civil and warrants functions. Administrative/clerical experience in law enforcement or criminal justice is preferred but not required. Responsibilities
Provide information processing and customer service support by explaining departmental regulations, policies and procedures; communicate work-related judgments and decisions to customers. Extract, analyze and interpret information from various sources to process records, reports, correspondence, and databases in accordance with standard procedures. Apply experienced judgment to solve problems and adapt procedures to address work situations; work under the general direction of supervisory staff. Explain and apply rules and procedures to support daily operations in the work unit. Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years full-time paid verifiable clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience as determined by the Director of Human Resources. Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer based systems. Proficiency, as defined by the Civil Service Commission, in operating word processing software. Ability to type from clear copy at a rate of 40 wpm/net. Preferred Qualifications
Thorough working knowledge of legal records and terminology. Assessments & Recruitment Process
