Overview
The Plumbing Technician installs, maintains, and repairs residential plumbing systems. Projects primarily include water heater replacement, water filtration, reverse osmosis systems, and water softeners. The role may assist with HVAC system tasks when necessary. Responsibilities
Execute the installation and repair of residential plumbing systems, including water heaters and water filtration systems. Assist with HVAC system maintenance and repair as needed. Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, using problem-solving skills to provide efficient and effective solutions. Ensure all plumbing work meets local codes and industry standards; stay updated on regulations and technologies. Deliver superior customer service by clearly explaining repair needs, improvements, and maintenance tips to clients. Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure longevity and efficiency. Uphold high standards of safety and cleanliness in all work areas, adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. Experience and Education
5+ years of experience in residential plumbing preferred. Educating clients on system maintenance and preventive measures. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Experience with computer software systems such as Microsoft Office, Service Titan, and Salesforce or related. Ability to pursue further education such as: State Plumbing License, Journeyman Plumbing Certification, HVAC EPA Certification, Plumbing Continuing Education, Water Treatment Certification, or Green Plumbing Practices Certification. OSHA and CPR Certification preferred. Knowledge and Abilities
Proven knowledge and compliance with plumbing codes and safety regulations. Proficient in using modern plumbing tools and equipment. Working knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to assist with HVAC tasks. Physically capable of performing tasks in confined and challenging environments. Technical Skills
Identify opportunities for additional services that meet client needs and align with their lifestyle or property requirements. Pipe fitting, including cutting, threading, and welding pipes, using manual and power tools. Experience with modern plumbing technology (e.g., tankless water heaters, smart home water systems, eco-friendly fixtures). Use and maintenance of plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers, video inspection tools). Understanding of local, state, and federal plumbing codes to ensure compliance. Experience in safe waste disposal and sanitation practices to maintain hygienic and safe environments. Behavioral Skills
Engage homeowners effectively, upsell services where appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and company revenue. Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines. Professional and committed work ethic. Work Environment

Field: Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
