Trinidad State College is seeking qualified applicants for a Construction Instructor position at the Trinidad Campus located in Trinidad, Colorado. This is an adjunct, position that reports directly to the Dean of Instruction and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The hourly pay rate is per credit hour.
Examples of Duties
The duties and responsibilities for the position are as follows:
Instruct students in assigned courses in accordance with established curriculum and collegeprocedures Use effective teaching methods and technologies to meet the diverse learning styles ofstudents Maintain and distribute current course syllabi using the acceptedtemplate Maintain accuraterecords Submit grades, schedule additions, course syllabi, and other reports or required documents by established deadlines Be aware of and follow established policies of the State Board, CCCS, and theCollege Assess learning outcomes, demonstrate the use of assessment results in course planning, report and maintain assessment records, and participate in assessment activities Develop and revise curriculum to maintain the quality and relevancy of courseofferings Notify theVice President of Academic Affairsif the faculty member is going to be absent from work. This notification should be made in a timelymanner. Discuss with appropriate personnel any problems of students, which may require special attention and provide records asneeded Review and select appropriate textbooks and maintain classroom supplies as needed for successful teaching of assignedclasses Incorporate learning resources and technologies in courses wheneverpossible Engage in professional development activities to maintain a current knowledge of subject matter and teaching methodology Meet all classes asscheduled Maintain regularly scheduled officehours Adhere to professional standards ofconduct Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science in Construction or related field; required field experience per CCCS Administrator’s Handbook guidelines Must be able to teach Construction courses within the TSC Catalog Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Must be agreeable to working with a diverse population and with all ranges of student abilities Must have a strong commitment and positive attitude toward Community College instruction Supplemental Information
