Account Manager
will sell a broad portfolio of Test & Measurement products, including oscilloscopes, signal measurement, RF test, Keithley and Elektro-Automatik (EA) products. The assigned Account Manager will cover strategic Mil/Gov and US Army / US Air Force accounts primarily in the Huntsville, AL, and Warner Robins, GA area. This is a growth-focused region with opportunities for advancement. The candidate should be able to travel within the assigned coverage territory. The
Account Manager
will develop and implement a sales plan (by market/customer and application) to grow Tektronix’s revenue and market share in assigned accounts. Strong strategic sales skills, knowledge of the market/customer base, and knowledge of Tek’s solutions are expected, along with the ability to learn. Responsibilities Utilize time and territory management to build plans and strategies for developing a robust funnel and exceeding sales goals. Apply Daily Management / Visual Management, problem solving, and root cause analysis to drive direction and activity. Maintain direct contact with key customers in the assigned territory; monitor customer needs, satisfaction and alignment with Tek’s strategies and solutions. Develop an individualized customer communication approach to understand needs and adapt to changing goals and challenges. Profile and develop relationships with key executives within focus accounts/territory. Engage extensive sales resources including applications engineers, product teams, channel partners, and inside sales support. Use Dynamics CRM for opportunities, leads, and funnel management. Qualifications 5+ years of proven experience in sales and account management. Demonstrated experience in Federal Government and/or Aerospace and Defense is highly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or electrical engineering is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Effective time management, problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and prioritize key customers. Strong strategic and tactical sales skills, including ability to assess customer base, prospect, qualify, identify needs & gaps, and apply appropriate solutions to win. Record of successfully selling technical products and/or capital equipment using a defined sales process. Experience in calling on aerospace & defense accounts, Mil/Gov entities, and prime contractors. Proven success in prospecting for and winning new business, including building relationships within the aerospace & defense customer base. Highly motivated self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel 30%-50% of the time, depending on job needs.
