Concord Hospitality Enterprises . The primary responsibility for this role is to sell and detail social and corporate catering events with and without guest rooms for the hotel. This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings to oversee event execution. During peak seasons, the work schedule may fluctuate between Monday – Friday and Tuesday – Saturday with flexibility. Responsibilities
Sell guest rooms, banquet food & beverage, upsell previously contracted groups turned over to the CSM, and maximize hotel revenues. Negotiate with clients, meetings and other functions; propose menus, bar setup, and room arrangements as per policy and procedure. Communicate arrangements in writing to necessary departments. Daily solicitation for new business, contract negotiation and review; coordinate local marketing efforts and maintain high communication before, during, and after events with hotel staff to ensure service quality. Train and supervise other associates as directed by management. Provide for a safe work environment by following safety and security procedures. Identify operational challenges and collaborate with property staff and customers to resolve or develop alternative solutions. Solicit banquet and catering sales by telephone and personal contact; work with the sales team to maximize facility utilization. Improve customer service by using feedback to inform action plans; maintain budgeted sales quotas and create ideas to increase catering revenue during low demand periods. Finalize details on Banquet Event Order Sheets (BEOs) by obtaining final programs and publishing BEOs for distribution. Offer personalized service to all groups; maintain cordial, efficient, and professional guest contact at all times. Solicit future business from current and past customers and set a positive example in attitude and performance. Foster teamwork within the department and with other hotel departments to maximize guest satisfaction and profit margins. Delegate responsibilities to banquet captain when applicable; complete assignments by due dates. Review quarterly plans and actions; establish objectives and achieve them in a timely manner. Operate within corporate and property standard policies and procedures; meet or exceed booking, appointment, and solicitation goals. Maintain records on cancellations and status reports; review future bookings with Sales and Marketing/Revenue Management weekly. Respond promptly to correspondence related to catering and sales activities; maintain catering/sales account databases per management standards. Provide site tours to potential customers of the hotel’s banquet facilities and facilitate various meetings as needed (BEO meetings, room block reviews, pre/post convention meetings, etc.). Know and exercise discretion in relation to all hotel operational departments when handling guest complaints or staff issues. Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Benefits
