Stantec . Our water resources team in Nevada is seeking energetic, driven candidates for full-time Stormwater Engineering positions, from junior to senior levels, with primary locations in Las Vegas, Reno, and Elko. You will help strengthen our stormwater and flood control capabilities. Tasks include leading and preparing designs, analyses, modeling, report preparation, permitting, CAD/BIM/GIS (Civil 3D) design, specifications development, community exhibits, and construction management documentation. Projects range from simple to multimillion-dollar mega projects, locally to regionally and internationally. Your Key Responsibilities

Lead design teams related to flood control, stormwater, and drainage improvement projects, including major infrastructure projects with other engineering disciplines.

Oversee and lead design teams of engineers and technicians who use CAD software (Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk Civil 3D) to develop 2D and 3D models.

Manage and lead teams performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for project designs and program master planning.

Develop and prepare design reports; create project design elements including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives to satisfy project purpose and client needs.

Develop design alternatives considering site conditions, right-of-way requirements, utility conflicts, design standards, and cost.

Peer review plans and provide QA/QC on engineering documents, reports, plans, specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

Support multi-discipline design teams on a variety of projects; manage multiple projects concurrently.

Assist and/or lead in preparing client proposals, scopes, cost/quantity estimates, and schedules.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Demonstrated experience leading design teams on multiple projects.

Demonstrated experience in flood control, stormwater, drainage planning, design, and development of construction documents.

Experience or understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.

Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Railway drainage design and analysis experience a plus.

Transportation (Caltrans) drainage design experience a plus.

Ability to apply technical knowledge creatively and to teach, mentor, and train teammates in these skills areas.

Attention to detail, positive attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong relationship-building skills to represent the company with internal and external stakeholders.

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or related field).

Experience: For Junior level roles, a minimum of two years in flood control/stormwater/drainage; other civil experience considered. For Senior level roles, a minimum of seven years in flood control/stormwater/drainage planning, design, and construction management for projects and programs.

Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Nevada is preferred or ability to obtain within one year for Senior level roles and within three years for junior level roles.
