Overview
Alcal Specialty Contracting, Inc. is accepting resumes for the Safety Coordinator role located in Kapolei, HI. This is a full-time, salaried position. Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr. This range is provided by Pacific Coast Building Products; your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
Implements and enforces the Injury/Illness Prevention Program and Code of Safe Practices.
Ensures the office and warehouse are in compliance with OSHA, HIOSH and environmental requirements.
Prepares site-specific safety submittals for all projects.
Conducts inspections of jobsites, the office and warehouse, vehicles, equipment and tools.
Identifies safety violations and confers with management on methods to correct deficiencies.
Performs accident investigations.
Attends training seminars to increase knowledge and stay up to date on safety regulations.
Conducts and/or participates in safety training and meetings, as necessary.
Oversees and manages the maintenance and certification of all vehicles, tools and equipment as it relates to safety.
Performs certification training and manages all equipment certifications through Success Factors.
Certifies drivers and equipment operations.
Distributes weekly toolbox topics to Foremen and participates in training as well as the gathering and filling of all sign-in sheets.
Manages all material SDS sheets to ensure that they are up to date and available where required.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' commercial construction safety experience; or equivalent years of education; or combination of work experience and education.
OSHA 30 certificate.
Must be willing to spend time in the field or have interest in learning roofing.
Computer knowledge, including the use of Excel, Word and other applicable programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees.
Must be able to effectively present information to groups of employees.
Knowledge of certification requirements for forklift operation, rough terrain, mobile platform, confined space, fall protection, emergency response, and respirator fit testing.
Thorough knowledge of Injury/Illness Prevention Programs, OSHA, and other federal and state safety codes and laws relevant to health and safety.
Knowledge of transportation and vehicle code rules and regulations.
Regular attendance is required.
Valid HI Driver's License.
