Overview

AECOM has a position available for Senior Construction Safety Professionals in LaGrange, GA; Atlanta, GA; Columbus, GA or Auburn, AL. In this role, the person will be working at a client’s site full-time as an owner's representative at a large data center campus construction site. The owner’s representative, along with the construction general contractor, will review and collaborate on safety programs to promote a culture of safety across the sites. Responsibilities

Monitor and advise on client’s EHS culture and support implementation of EHS procedures and regulatory requirements at the site. Independently develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures. Supervise personnel engaged in ES&H functions within the company or on the project with minimal direction. Monitor and prevent hazards and diseases in the work area; supervise personnel engaged in monitoring and preventing hazards and diseases at multiple sites as needed. Work with and advise the contractor in identifying and implementing corrective actions for deficiencies or issues. Review and advise on the Contractor Environmental Health and Safety Plan (CEHSP) for conformance with client requirements and local regulations. Liaise with the resident contract agency representative and other agencies to promote environmental, safety, and health activities. Interface with the construction management team by delivering current, accurate, and timely data on Contractor EHS performance, KPI trends, incident management, environmental monitoring/responsibilities, EHS metrics, and other information to support informed decision-making. Represent the client’s Construction EHS Team in essential meetings and activities (e.g., GC meetings, safety briefings, orientations, safety committees, EHS leads, etc.). Draft reports to Federal, State, and local agencies, as well as client stakeholders. Stay informed of changes in occupational health and safety regulations and assist in developing and conducting ES&H training for employees. Communicate all incidents to local and area leadership and promote awareness of prevention and compliance programs. Administer ES&H programs on large, complex projects or multiple projects as needed; develop solutions and conduct site safety walks with contractor management. Evaluate the completeness and effectiveness of hazard assessments (RAMS, JHAs, ARTs, PTPs) and communicate improvement opportunities. Create, validate, and communicate lessons learned ( Significant Events and Significant Potential Events ) with trade partners. Advise on applicable client EHS requirements and contractual exhibits to ensure conformance. Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize hazards. Collaborate with the client’s operations team to manage EHS aspects of construction activities; participate in client-specific training and initiatives as requested. Provide construction health and safety training as needed; may lead a team of ES&H specialists and support personnel. Support global construction EHS programs and localization efforts as needed; conduct focused field audits and verification activities. May travel to multiple project locations as required; engage, coach, and interact with field personnel (minimum 60% in the field). Provide technical leadership to ensure regulatory standards are enforced and quality control procedures are followed. Investigate accidents, injuries, and workplace hazard complaints. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education; experience in construction safety or related field; valid driver’s license and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review; US citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Data center construction experience; experience overseeing multiple trades; NFPA 70E Certification; OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training; OSHA Authorized Trainer; Certified Safety Professional or equivalent; strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
