Location: Belfast, ME 04915 Department: Crisis Intervention Adult Employment Type: Full Time Summary
Based in Belfast, Maine, this position provides assessment, support, and stabilization services in the community, crisis stabilization units, and during a 30-day post-crisis stabilization period. Respond to client calls for assistance at homes, schools, community locations, or hospital emergency rooms. Sweetser’s mobile crisis intervention specialists respond 24/7 to crisis calls from parents, teachers, police, guardians, and youths needing immediate help. Ideal Candidate
Responds to crisis intervention requests from individuals, families, community providers, and agencies to resolve acute psychiatric crises. Determines the need for face-to-face assessments and negotiates meeting sites ensuring safety. Assesses mental status, functioning, and the individual's goals during crises. Develops crisis stabilization plans with clients and families based on comprehensive assessments. May request protective custody interventions or facilitate hospitalization or alternatives to hospitalization. Participates in crisis follow-up and provides intervention and aftercare services. Position Requirements
Valid Driver's License Lived experience in Mental Health or Substance Abuse systems encouraged Mobile Crisis experience preferred Education Requirements
Associates Degree or MHRT/CSP required Bachelor's degree preferred Additional Details
