We are seeking an
Armed Public Safety Officer
to help keep our community safe. We support Emory Healthcare's mantra of "We're all in this together." Our goal is to offer security services worthy of premier healthcare, including friendly officers, valuables storage, access control, ID badges, and parking—developed to exceed your service expectations. Shift Time:
Various Shifts Available (Day / Evening / Night) Locations: Northlake (30345) The Emory Clinic (30324) Emory Musculoskeletal Institute (MSK) (30329) Job Responsibilities: Patrol facilities and property, observe for unauthorized persons or activities, unsafe conditions, and maintain life safety standards. Maintain communication with supervisors, officers, Security Operations Center, and law enforcement to report incidents and irregularities. Respond to confrontations, restrain violent or disoriented persons, and support clinical teams during emergencies. Follow safety protocols for observations, holds, and restraints per federal, state, and organizational mandates. Administer initial first aid as trained. Investigate and document hazards, incidents, and criminal activities, and report to relevant authorities. Detain unauthorized individuals as per policy or law, and release to proper authorities. Use force when appropriate, within organizational policy, to protect customers and staff. Maintain annual proficiency with firearms and less-than-lethal equipment. Minimum Requirements
Three (3) years of armed security, military, or law enforcement experience within the last 7 years. Possess a POST (law enforcement) certification or be registered with a firearms licensing board within 7 years. Complete Basic Security Officer and Firearms courses mandated by the Secretary of State within 3 months of hire. Complete training to carry non-lethal weapons like Taser or baton within 3 months of hire. Valid Georgia Driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate a company vehicle when required. Pass a psychological exam. Obtain IAHSS Basic certification within 12 months. Obtain BLS Certification within 12 months. Complete FEMA courses IS 100, 200, 700 & 800 within six months. Join Our Team
