Overview
Bethel E Baptist Church is a small, family-centered Southern Baptist church serving Elberton and the surrounding community. We are a warm and welcoming congregation with a deep commitment to God’s Word, prayer, and discipleship. Our church family spans multiple generations, and we believe strongly in investing in the next generation while keeping students connected to the life of the whole church.
Position Summary Bethel E Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a
Youth Pastor/Director
to shepherd and disciple our middle and high school students. We desire a leader who will point teenagers to Jesus, equip them to live out their faith, and partner with families in the discipleship process.
This role is about
relationships more than programs ,
discipleship more than entertainment , and
integration more than isolation . Our youth pastor will cultivate a ministry that helps students grow in Christ, serve others, and feel at home in the church body.
We are open to a
full-time or bi-vocational candidate , depending on calling and experience, and willing to shape responsibilities around the gifts God has given the right leader.
Key Responsibilities
Relational Discipleship
Build authentic relationships with students through presence at church, school, and community activities.
Mentor and disciple students in small groups and one-on-one settings.
Encourage and equip students to participate fully in worship, service, and the life of the church.
Biblical Teaching & Spiritual Formation
Lead weekly youth gatherings (Sunday school and Wednesday night meetings) that are rooted in Scripture and focused on spiritual growth.
Help students develop spiritual habits—prayer, Bible study, evangelism, and service.
Plan retreats, mission opportunities, and other experiences that strengthen faith and fellowship.
Candidates must align with the church's article of faith.
Volunteer & Parent Partnership
Recruit, equip, and encourage adult volunteers of all ages to serve in youth ministry.
Partner with parents as the primary disciple-makers of their teenagers.
Communicate regularly with parents about ministry opportunities and resources.
Leadership & Collaboration
Work with the pastor and church leadership to align youth ministry with Bethel’s mission.
Provide input and energy for church-wide activities, especially intergenerational opportunities.
Manage youth ministry resources and budget responsibly.
Provide a monthly report to the Deacons at their monthly meeting.
Qualifications
A clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of spiritual maturity.
A lifestyle consistent with the biblical qualifications for ministry leaders (1 Tim. 3, Titus 1).
A heart for teenagers and a clear calling to youth ministry.
Ability to teach Scripture faithfully and apply it to students’ lives.
Relational, approachable, and able to connect with both students and families.
Prior ministry experience preferred; seminary or ministry training a plus but not required.
Compensation Salary and benefits will be based on experience and church resources.
