Senior Welder and Fabrication Technician , one opening on first shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) and one opening on second shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), reporting to the Shop Floor Supervisor, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Long Beach. Shift details : First shift 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM; Second shift 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Weld Haven primary structure for human spaceflight. Operate mechanized and robotic welding equipment. Fabricate and weld tooling quickly and accurately. Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance. Fit and form parts, clean as required, and set up welding equipment in preparation for welding. Perform Class A-quality aluminum welds. Diagnose weld defects and suggest corrective actions, including repair and process optimization. Collaborate with engineering to improve tools and solve problems. Handle raw materials and finished weldments. Experience with a wide variety of metal fabrication equipment (e.g., vertical bandsaws, sanding equipment) with the capability to efficiently set up jig tables. Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience with Class A TIG. 5+ years of experience with fabrication and forming. High level of expertise in aluminum welding and ability to pass Vast 3G/2G weld certification test. Preferred Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience with Class A aerospace welding. Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced department. Experience reading engineering blueprints. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Familiar with working alongside X-ray technicians and other NDT techniques. Automated/robotic welding experience preferred; VPPAW experience is a plus. Additional Requirements

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted. Salary Range : California — $36–$50 USD Compensation And Benefits Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
