Overview
Safety & Security Officer III (2nd Shift, 4pm -12am Tu-Sat) at Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH). Shift differential applies. Scope of work: general safety and security functions including patrolling, inspecting, securing buildings, enforcing policies, responding to alarms and incidents, assisting the community and maintaining records. Responsibilities
Provide emergency services and routine campus patrols on campus and near off‑campus areas. Secure buildings, facilitate traffic flow and enforce parking regulations. Enforce college policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws. Investigate all criminal activity occurring on NHTI controlled property and cooperate with outside law enforcement when applicable. Issue parking tickets and tow vehicles when necessary. Respond to routine safety escort and emergency medical, fire alarm calls. Assist in snow removal process by coordinating vehicular evacuations of snow removal lots. Maintain Clery Act compliance and work closely with local police and fire departments. Prepare thorough written reports including daily logs and incident reports. Track door key distribution and lock/unlock buildings and offices as necessary. Distribute ID cards to students, staff, and faculty. Serve students, faculty, and staff to provide safety and welfare whenever practicable. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent credential. Three years’ experience in law enforcement work as a security guard/officer, police officer, corrections officer, or military police officer; each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of experience. Valid driver’s license required; current CPR/AED and basic first aid certification. Must be age 21 and willing to work a flexible schedule and adjust hours during special or emergency events. Special Requirements: position designated as Essential Personnel subject to all provisions. Desired Qualification: Current National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification.
