JOB SUMMARY
: Do you want to make a difference and have fun at work? Join the Youth Services team! Childcare staff are an integral part of the Recreation Department, they engage with kids, play, guide, mentor and have fun at work! They support before and after school care at local school sites. Childcare staff work in a team to provide quality care for children in grades TK - 6th, leading activities, building relationships, and making memories. Hours per week: varies, up to 30 hours with flexible options for scheduling. Programs open Monday - Friday, additional opportunities are available within other Parks and Recreation programs if desired. Early morning, mid-day or afternoon shifts available. Average hours per week: 10-30 SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Employees in this classification work under direct supervision of the Childcare Site Specialist. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Child Care Teachers and Head Teachers are needed to: Lead planned activities for groups of school-age children (art, games, science, cooking and more!) Work with a team to ensure all children are accounted for and safe at all Communicate with co-workers, kids and families in a positive manner Maintain a clean and sanitary environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
6 units of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Recreation, Psychology, Education, Kinesiology or related field Six months experience in a licensed childcare facility or An equivalent combination of education and experience. POSSESSION AND MAINTENANCE OF:
Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice Child Abuse Index check Tuberculosis Clearance and satisfactory Health Screening Copies of college transcripts
