Department Overview Department of Public Health, Fresno State, is dedicated to advancing public health practice and research. Faculty and students work collaboratively on community health improvement initiatives.

Position Summary The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses in Public Health and other classes as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibility Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies. Instructors prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).

Conditional Appointment Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement. Eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Compensation Commensurate with qualifications and experience within the salary range placement. Salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree receive $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Actual monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term.

Anticipated Semester The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The pool will remain in place for two academic terms. Applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice.

Fall 2025: August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025 Spring 2026: January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026

Required Qualifications Education

– A Master’s degree in Public Health or a health-related field.

Experience

Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.

Preferred Qualifications

A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence.

Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Experience with a closely related discipline.
