Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Director of Housing and Residence Life. This position serves as the senior housing officer, a member of the team of directors in the Division of Student Affairs, and is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Department of Housing and Residence Life (HRL), which includes a growing residential population of over 1,400 beds, eight full-time staff members, and over 50 paraprofessional staff members. Candidates must have knowledge of factors related to best practices in residential housing on a university campus, demonstrated commitment to the residential experience and how it supports student development, learning, and success, demonstrated collaborative relationships with facilities management, custodial services, campus safety and security, and dining services, and experience managing comprehensive budgets. Some weekend, evening, and holiday work may be required. Perks Await You at Embry-Riddle! Qualifications Master's degree in Student Affairs, Educational Leadership/Administration, Counseling, or related field Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities Minimum of 5 years of experience in college or university housing and/or residence life operations in student affairs or a related area, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role Strong organizational, supervisory, administrative, and technology skills Experience with online records management software (Maxient, THD, and/or others) Experience supervising full-time professional staff Experience in on-call/emergency response rotation Experience as a student conduct officer Preferred Threat assessment training/certification Involvement in local, state, and/or national professional housing and residence life organization(s)
