Special Educator – Intervention Specialist
supports students with low‑incidence disabilities through individualized instruction, curriculum adaptation, and collaboration with a paraprofessional. The role requires rigorous instructional design, behavioral planning, and data‑driven decision making. Key Responsibilities
Implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) and modify curriculum for students with diverse disabilities. Deliver small‑group or one‑on‑one instruction across core academics and SEL curriculum. Utilize Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies and differentiate instruction. Assist students in developing independence, self‑advocacy, and life skills. Serve as liaison among students, families, teachers, and support staff. Participate in multidisciplinary teams, MTSS, and BIP meetings. Administer formal and informal assessments; analyze results to adjust instruction. Prepare IEP documentation, progress reports, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Current Ohio Special Education Intervention Specialist License or willingness to obtain certification by start date. Experience in content areas and with Ohio’s Extended Learning Standards. Proficiency in ETR, IEP writing, and data collection.
