What You Will Do
Follow the prep list guidelines created by the Chef to meet business demands.
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so that they are organized and easily accessible.
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
Assist in preparing simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
Maintain and comply with state sanitation/health regulations.
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
What You Need To Have
2+ years restaurant experience working in any form in a kitchen; experience in a fine dining establishment and/or high-volume restaurant preferred.
Degree from a food service program, culinary school or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge of all local health department requirements for safe food handling and sanitation standards; Non-expired Food Handlers Certification required.
A passion for quality and respect for team members and guests.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance; Stand or Walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift; Complete tasks that require repetitive motion.
