JOB SUMMARY:
With consultation of thePsychological and Social SciencesDivision Director,this adjunct faculty member is responsible for the instruction of graduate courses that support division’s graduate programs.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
Adheres to all university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogs Respects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and views Performs other duties as assigned by the Division Director or college Dean
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling with licensure preferred Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD or PsyD) in general areas of Psychology preferred Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or School Counseling with licensure considered Master’s Degree in general areas of Psychology considered
Experience
Experience teaching in higher education preferred Experience teaching at the graduate level preferred
Knowledge And Skills
Demonstrates an understanding of educational theory, instructional methods, evaluation techniques, and use of technology typically utilized in higher education in a classroom setting Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established teaching goals and objectives Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents
