Job Summary The Propulsion Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of fabrication, integration and test of space flight systems and support equipment. This role requires the ability to work the first shift.
This position's internal job code is Propulsion Subsystem Manuf Tech Senior. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 24.
Responsibilities
Weld, assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters, non‑flight thermocouples and heaters on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, integration, and test procedures
Visually inspect propulsion assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, and test procedure
Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overheads cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle and sub-assembly transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations and other GSE as required
Travel may be required to support operations identified by program being supported
Capable of operating a wide range of tools, including but not limited to orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power and hand tools
Interface and/or work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost, and other areas involved in the control of product quality
Support in areas defined by Millennium Space System Leadership as business needs require
Crosstrain / mentor new hires
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in propulsion assembly on high reliability products (preferably aerospace products)
Minimum 1 year experience of orbital tube welding
High School Diploma/GED
Ability to interpret drawing, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, internal and external specifications
Experience using inspection tooling (e.g. calipers, micrometers, DMM, depth gauges, etc.)
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Experience with heater, thermistor installations
Experience with using various hand tools and power tools
Experience mixing epoxy materials
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of Aerospace experience
5+ years of orbital tube welding experience
2+ years performing thermal system component installation in aerospace
2+ years of harness assembly and routing
Summary Pay-Range Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Grade 24: $28.56-$45.72
