Your mission, roles and responsibilities Lead sales activities for customer interface on new business pursuits/acquisitions, and commercial actions, for the responsible customer account. Integrated within the Sales Organization of a given Customer, the Assistant Manager, Toyota and other Western JOEM is responsible for the Sales development for a specific Account or part of this Account (Product line, program or project), within Japan Division.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Develop in-depth intimacy with Customer contacts (e.g., Purchasing, Engineering, Programs):
Manage customer satisfaction of QCDDM for entire business
Interface with customer up to management level
Lead, plan and execute customer events with close coordination with internal stakeholders
Develop relationship with direct counterparts at the customer, and with assigned contacts by the sales network
Understand what competition is doing, and share with internal cross‑functional members for development or adjustment of customer strategies
Programs:
Oversees program(s) from Sales perspective
Initiates, and/or supports negotiation of ECRs and claims
Follow the profitability of the Program(s)
Participate to the BG / Division Program review(s)
Acquisitions:
Lead, and/or take part in Acquisition Team
Understanding of the Business Plan & RFQA
Develop & lead the execution of the lobbying plan
Prepare, update and improve commercial offers through the negotiation rounds
Commercial management:
Lead commercial negotiation with customer for annual price negotiations after SOP.
Negotiate price increase for inflation related topics and other issues.
Your profile and competencies to succeed Qualifications The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum Education Level : Bachelor Degree with a willingness to develop a career path in the organization, Business or Engineering major is a plus
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience with successful track record with different commercial assignments in the automotive industry
Established personal relationship with any Japanese OEMs (e.g., Toyota, Daihatsu, Mazda, or On-Highway commercial vehicle OEMs)
Knowledge and/or experience in solution and/or value added sales in Automotive components.
Nice to have: Cockpit Electronics related products or components (IVI, IVE) or Display System(s), or camera system(s) experiences
Skills and competencies
Native or near native Japanese
English level: Advanced (There are opportunities to communicate with people in the company in English)
Automotive Business Model, Industry, and Product knowledge
Strong competencies in relationship management and negotiation
Comfortable with financials
Good communication and presentation skills, and capacity of empathy
Business and entrepreneur international mindset
Proactive, accountable and results oriented – Get the things done
Team player and ability to work in a cross‑functional organization
Ability to cope with frequent domestic business trips
Driver’s license
