Reporting to the Head Coach, Women’s Rowing, the Assistant Coach will assist in the organization, planning, and coaching of all practices and regattas with the varsity rowing team. This position provides additional support for the freshmen/novice team and takes ownership of the recruiting process. This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours. Essential Functions
Provides coaching and technical support to student-athletes to improve their individual development as rowers. Creates a safe environment on and off the water for all student-athletes. Evaluates, identifies, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10, and NCAA regulations and policies, including the development and production of all recruiting mailings and emails; acting as primary contact for all potential recruits via email, phone, and in-person meetings; coordination and implementation of recruiting weekend programs and off-campus recruiting visits. Serves as primary contact with the admissions office. Assists with the maintenance and repair of all rowing equipment. Travels with the team to all regattas and training camps. Assists in administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Complies with all NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, and University rules and regulations. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience — Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of collegiate rowing experience and/or coaching experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills — High-level organizational skills; demonstrated commitment and motivation to building a successful program; strong interpersonal and communication skills; working knowledge of Google Workspace; understanding and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Preferred Qualifications — Coaching experience in an NCAA program; Valid Driver’s License. Compensation
Minimum Starting Salary: $55,000 Maximum Starting Salary: $62,400 Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills. Additional Information
