$24.00/hr - $28.00/hr The Opportunity

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for dismantling and cleaning MFG and Packaging equipment. This includes removing hoppers, covers, lids, screens, port valves, side covers where applicable, dusters, polisher assemblies, scoops, plastic buckets, plastic drums, and material handling containers. The role guides the sanitation team in major and minor cleans, assists with environmental and data logger monitoring, ensures MSS is completed at the required frequency, and assists production on gummy lines when sanitation duties are not being performed. The Sanitation Lead also supports cleaning and sanitizing processing walls, lift covers, air vents, floors, strip doors, and related areas. The role uses approved chemicals and follows safety guidelines. All Lock Out/Tag Out procedures must be followed. The Sanitation Lead reports to the Supervisor and receives direction, training, scheduling and other sanitation support to meet company cGMPs and cleaning SOPs. What You’ll Do

Disassemble, clean, sanitize processing equipment such as kettles, CFAs, cooling tunnels, incline conveyors, z elevators, bottling and packaging equipment, scoops, and other components as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor. Clean and sanitize production room walls, ceilings, light fixtures, air vents, strip doors, floors and other production accessories as required. Maintain all process/ cleaning and log books, ensuring all steps of the cleaning directions follow MeriCal's SOPs and cGMPs. Measure, mix, and prepare cleaning and sanitizing solutions as instructed by the Sanitation Supervisor. Must be able to read, write and understand English to write routine reports and necessary correspondence. Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure. Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions with practical understanding. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and work in tight spaces safely and efficiently. Must be able to stand for 10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs. Respond to data logger deviations. Assist in collecting environmental program samples. Assist in waste pickup. Assist in production on gummy lines when major/minor cleans and MSS tasks are not being performed. What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous lead experience. 1–2 years of experience in sanitation. 2 years working in a food manufacturing facility. Familiarity with production environment and packaging experience is a plus. Familiar with GMPs. Experience working with chemicals and knowledge of usage. The Perks

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $24.00 to $28.00. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
